V-BAT: Australia’s Next Generation Uncrewed Aerial System

Introducing V-BAT

V-BAT is a long endurance, Group 3, true vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAS powered by Hivemind, the world’s best AI pilot. Manufactured by US technology company Shield AI, the V-BAT’s DNA is defence oriented, however the capability is equally adept across law enforcement, border security, environmental protection and bio-security roles to support operations across both land and maritime environments. Able to be launched and recovered anywhere, the V-BAT can be out of the box and into the air in less than 15 minutes with a three-person team.

V-BAT Crushes The Competition

RESULTS

In head to head customer flyoffs,
V-BATS wins. U.S. and allied militaries choose V-BAT as it delivers, period.

PERFORMANCE

Ducted-fan technology enables industry leading max-takeoff weight ratio, redefining what’s possible.

SAFETY

No exposed rotors, no required operator safety zones. So safe you can get hands on during takeoff and landing.

Operations

V-BAT has an open architecture framework for mission specific modularity, and integrates the latest technologies, including several key Australian OEM-designed payloads in configuration approval. Multiple integration programs are underway utilising Australian payloads & technology.

  • Border Protection
  • Force Projection
  • Climate Surveillance
  • ISR/EW
  • Biosecurity
  • Policing Effects
  • Fire Detection
  • Information Gathering

Trusted Australian prime Toll Aviation, teamed with US technology company Shield AI, delivering accelerated capability for Australia.

Training

Our Brisbane-based Toll Uncrewed Systems head office and maintenance facility, along with our Sydney footprint within The ACE Training Centre at Bankstown, allow us to offer dedicated classroom training of the highest quality. Our extensive flight approvals ensure that we can train Group 3 level qualifications to the most advanced levels in real life environments.

Our courses cover aircraft familiarisation, ground crew qualifications and type endorsement with CASA certification, and our instructors are experienced, dedicated SMEs in their fields. We have trained students from Defence, State Police and other Government Agencies.

Specifications

V-BAT is designed to be runway independent, with a minimal logistic footprint for launch and recovery in austere environments with no external support. The aircraft can be transported in the bed of a truck and assembled by two personnel, making it a true expeditionary system built for dynamic movement and fluid mission sets.
